If you want to learn Japanese I recommend getting some or all of these, if you don’t want to get them all I recommend the workbook, pict-o-graphix, or the Pimsleur. You can find the books on amazon I’m pretty sure and just type Pimsleur Japanese I into google and it should come up. Good luck! =^-^= Let me know how it works or if you have a suggestion. I wasn’t sure what category this video was…anyway…I haven’t started learning kanji yet, but I do know that the makers of the pict-o-graphix made a book for kanji like they did with hiragana and katakana. As the title implies, this is how one goes about “beginning” the journey to becoming fluent at the oh-so difficult language of Japanese. Nothing can be achieved until you start doing something with yourself, so if you are having that kind of problem you might want to watch this for a bit. (actually until the end cause thats when I actually give some good advice). In hopes of getting more subs I could be shameless and make this a response to Koichi’s “learn Japanese in 5 minutes a day” which is in the sidebar anyways as a related vid. Tip 1: Attend courses

Tip 2: Move to Japan

Move to Japan if you want to learn the language faster and more effectively. Every day you will be forced to speak Japanese because you’re surrounded by people who speak the language only. In such environment, you can learn to speak Japanese really fast.

Consider working over there so that you can stay for a while until you master the language. You can be a teacher teaching your native language to the Japanese.

You can also study at a language school over there. The point is to get “immersed” in a Japanese-speaking environment where you cannot get elsewhere.

Tip 3: Work for a Japanese company

Besides staying in Japan, you can also work for a Japanese company so that you can learn the language while working. The main idea here is to get into a Japanese-speaking-only place without having to go to Japan. Your speaking skill will improve very fast in this way.

Volunteer yourself to go for training in Japan and use the opportunity to make many friends while you’re there. In this way, you not only learn the language while you’re having training there, you can continue to practise the language by keeping in contact with your new Japanese friends through emails, facebook, skype or other methods.

Tip 4: Make friends with Japanese

Find out where is the Japanese Community in your own country and try to make some Japanese friends so that you get the chance to practise using the language.

Maybe you can request them to teach you Japanese and in exchange teach them your native language. Since they are living in your country now, they may also want to learn your native language.

Tip 5: Join the activities organized by Japanese Association

Depending on some countries, there might be a Japanese Association near where you are living. The association normally organizes some activities to help the locals to learn their language. Join in these activities.

The aim of these activities is to foster the relationship with the local people, and also helping the locals to appreciate the beauty of Japanese.

Tip 6: Watch Japanese News and Dramas

Lastly you can visit many online Japanese news sites to improve your listening skill. Many of them even provide short scripts for the news. My advice is to listen to the news without looking at the script first. In this way, your Japanese listening skill will improve very fast after repeating this for a period of time.

While you can learn more “formal” Japanese in the news sites, you can learn more “casual” Japanese if you watch Japanese dramas. Don’t rely too much on the subtitles so that you can concentrate to listen to the dialogues in the dramas.
